Happy Balanced You, LLC is a counseling service that provides compassionate and transformative mental health support to individuals in need of an empathic ear.  Clients are treated with dignity and respect, and viewed from a holistic and strengths-based perspective.  Happy Balanced You, is a safe, encouraging space where you are valued and seen.

Happy Balanced You, LLC offers individual therapy sessions for individuals 18 years old and above.  Sessions/appointments are only conducted virtually via telehealth at this time.


Happy Balanced You, LLC provides virtual telehealth services to residents of South Carolina & North Carolina.

  • Many clients opt out of insurance billing for therapy due to several reasons:
    • Privacy concerns: Billing insurance can compromise privacy by involving the sharing of personal information with insurance companies.
    • Treatment constraints: Insurance often dictates treatment options and requires a diagnosis, which some clients may prefer to avoid.
    • Administrative burdens: The paperwork and preauthorization requirements associated with insurance billing can be overwhelming.
  • By choosing not to bill insurance, clients can enjoy:
    • A more personalized therapy experience.
    • Increased flexibility in scheduling.
    • Enhanced confidentiality tailored to their specific needs and preferences.

 


  • Consultation.  The duration of this process is 10 minutes (maximum) and consists of getting a brief overview of what brings you to therapy, my role as the therapist, my treatment approaches/modalities, and we will determine if we are a good fit in working together and if I could possibly meet your needs as a therapist.  


  • Intake.  This consists of an initial assessment to gather background information relevant for treatment.  (Duration: 1 hour) This session also includes the opportunity to learn more about the counseling process, review policies and procedures, complete consents, privacy and confidentiality, and other forms.  The assessment appointment is a prerequisite to scheduling an individual therapy session.


  • Goal setting.  In this step we will focus on clarifying your goals and identifying measurable steps to achieve them!  This process gives us a roadmap that guides our sessions and keeps them focused and intentional.


  •  Self-exploration and expansion.  Here is where the change work begins!  We begin meeting for regular sessions, have in-depth discussions where we process your thoughts and feelings,  identify strengths and obstacles, what has been working well so far and what has not, and identifying and practicing new skills and patterns to help you with reaching your long and short term goals.  This process is very collaborative and individualized in nature.


  • Termination.  Congratulations!  Here is where you have officially and successfully acquired the skills, knowledge, and introspection necessary to move forward beyond our sessions.  This step is where our sessions end because you are now able to consistently apply what you have learned through the course of therapy to your daily surroundings.  You can trust your own inner guidance to manage whatever comes your way in the future with confidence and in a way that best supports your wellbeing and future.  Big kudos to you!




Therapy sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long.  Clients typically meet on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis depending on the client's needs.


Yes, confidentiality is something that is very important to me as it is one of the core foundations for creating a safe and trusting space in the counseling relationship.  Client sessions are confidential.  The only exceptions to that would be in the event you were to pose a danger to yourself or others.


Absolutely! Prioritizing your self-care and mental wellbeing is ALWAYS a great investment!  Much like going to the doctor and the dentist for regular checkups is second nature, therapy should be also be an essential part of your wellness routine.


Most problems can be resolved through online therapy, but sometimes more intensive treatment is needed.  My free 15-minute consultation, along with the initial assessment (there is a fee for assessment) is designed to help me determine if online therapy can meet your needs.  If at any time while working with you, I believe that you would be better served in traditional therapy setting, I will provide you with community resources and referrals, and counseling with HBY will be discontinued.
